Syed & Co

Big Bazaar Street is always loud and we are right in the middle of it at number 1057. Syed & Co has been here for a while now. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot and the crowds really start to push through the street. We spend a lot of time just sorting through things and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s a lot of work but it keeps us busy. Sometimes people stop by just to ask directions and we help them out. The shop isn't fancy. We have old shelves and some desks that have seen better days. But it works for us. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People know where we are. Dealing with the heat in the afternoon is probably the hardest part of the job. We have a small fan that tries its best. Usually, one of us goes out to get tea for everyone around four o'clock. It's a nice break from the phones and the paperwork. Working here means you get used to the noise of the traffic and the shouting of vendors outside. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done. It’s not a big corporate thing, just a regular place where we show up every morning and try to get the orders right. By the time we close up, the street is finally starting to get a bit quieter. We go home and do it all again tomorrow.
