If you’re driving down Mettupalayam Road towards Karamadai, you’ll see us at Sf No 164/2-A. Svgv Matriculation Higher Secondary School has been sitting on this plot of land for quite a while. It’s a large area, which is good because we have a lot of students from the surrounding parts of Coimbatore. The main building is visible from the road, and there’s always a bit of activity at the gate. We have a mix of old and new classrooms depending on which wing you are in. The playground gets very dusty in the dry season, but that’s just how it is here. Our staff room is usually full of books and tea cups. We don’t have any fancy mission statements on the walls. We just try to get the kids through their matriculation and higher secondary exams without too much fuss. The morning assembly is held out in the open, and you can hear the kids from a distance. Sometimes the traffic on Mettupalayam Road makes it hard to hear, but we’ve all gotten used to it over the years. We aren't a big corporate chain. We are just a local school trying to provide a place for kids to learn. Parents often drop by to talk about their children’s progress, and we usually just pull up a chair for them in the office. It’s a busy, noisy, and honest place to work. We’ve been part of the Karamadai landscape for years and plan to stay that way.
