You can find Sun Flower Beauty Parlour & Training Centre right at the entrance of Thondamuthur Road in Vadavalli. We are very close to the Kattu Vinayagar Kovil, so most people just look for the temple when they are trying to find us for the first time. Vadavalli has changed a lot over the years and gotten much busier, but our little corner feels pretty much the same as it always has. We do all the regular beauty treatments, and we also have a space where we train girls who want to learn how to do this work themselves. It makes the shop feel a bit crowded sometimes, with students and customers all in one space, but it’s a good kind of energy. We aren't some big fancy salon chain; we're just a local spot where we do our daily work for the people who walk in. The atmosphere is very casual. We don't have a formal reception or anything like that. People usually just walk in and we tell them how long the wait will be. Sometimes we are busy with a wedding party, and other times it’s just one or two neighbors coming in for a quick haircut. We’ve known many of the families around here for a long time, so it feels more like a community than just a business. It’s a lot of work, but we like being here near the temple and seeing the same faces every day.
