Sri Saraswathi Vidhya Mandheer School

This school is located in Sirumugai, specifically at Alankombu Post. It’s a bit of a drive from the main Coimbatore city, which makes it a quieter place to be. We are surrounded by a lot of greenery and open space, which is one of the things we like about being out here. The building itself is sturdy and has been through many seasons. We have a big gate that we keep closed during the day, and a small garden area that we try to keep tidy, though the weeds usually win. The classrooms are airy and get a lot of natural light, which is lucky. We don't have any high-tech climate control, just the windows and the ceiling fans. The students come from the surrounding villages and Sirumugai town. You can hear them laughing in the yard during the lunch break. It’s a very local feel here; everyone seems to know everyone else's business. We have a few old wooden cupboards in the office that are overflowing with files and records from years back. The teachers are usually busy marking papers or talking to parents by the entrance. It’s not a fast-paced environment. We just do the teaching and make sure the kids are safe until they head home. It is a simple life at Alankombu Post, and Sri Saraswathi Vidhya Mandheer School is just part of that daily rhythm. We keep the lights on and the books open.
