Our school is right in the middle of the Bazaar area in Tirupur. We’re on Nataraj Theatre Road, which is always humming with activity from the local shops and the cinema nearby. It’s a compact place, given how crowded this part of town is. We don’t have huge sprawling fields, but we make use of the space we have. The building has been here for a good while, and it shows a little wear and tear around the edges. Inside, the classrooms are filled with the sound of kids reciting their lessons. Because we’re in the heart of the market district, you can often hear the noise from the street—horns honking or people calling out—but we’ve all gotten used to it. The staff here is mostly local, and we know many of the families who send their children to us. It’s a very grounded kind of environment. We don’t use a lot of high-tech stuff; it’s mostly just books, pencils, and blackboards. During the break, the kids stay in the courtyard or sit in the shade of the building. It gets pretty warm in Tirupur, so the fans are always going. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just open the gates every morning and do our jobs. It’s a practical school for the families living and working in the bazaar area.
