Sabari Cranes India Pvt Ltd is located over at 18, Sithayankottai in Kombai Nagar. It’s a quiet enough place until we start the engines. We have been working with these cranes for a long time now. It’s a family-style operation even though it says "Pvt Ltd" on the sign. Most of us grew up around machinery. We spend our days dealing with heavy lifting jobs all around the local area. Sometimes we have to drive the cranes quite a distance, which takes forever on these roads. We don't have a big corporate office with air conditioning. We mostly just have a shed for the tools and a desk for the bills. The sun in Kombai Nagar can be brutal, so we drink a lot of water and try to stay in the shade when the crane is idle. People around here know us by name. We don't do much advertising because the work speaks for itself. If we say we will be there at eight, we try our best to be there, though sometimes the machines have other plans. We fix what breaks and we keep moving. It’s not complicated. We just lift things up and put them down where they need to go. It’s been our life for years and we don’t know much else. Kombai Nagar is a good place to be based, even if it’s a bit out of the way for some. We like the pace here.
