It’s a lot of weighing things out on the scales and sealing up smaller bags for customers. The floor is usually covered in a bit of dust from the spices, and it can make you sneeze if you aren't used to it. We deal with both local people coming in for a small amount and other traders who want more. The location is a bit tucked away, so people sometimes have to call us for directions the first time they come. It’s a busy place with people moving boxes and loading up scooters or small vans. We don't have a polished storefront. It’s more of a working warehouse and shop combined into one. There are piles of bags everywhere and the sounds of people shouting orders or moving pallets around. We just keep our heads down and get the orders filled. It is a very hands-on job where your hands are always stained with some kind of spice powder by the end of the shift.
