We’ve been doing taxes and accounting here in Coimbatore for quite a long time. Our office is on Arumugha Nadar Lane in the Nanajundapuram area. It’s a small lane, and if you aren't looking for it, you might drive right past. The office is basically just a room full of steel cupboards and stacks of files that seem to grow every year. We handle a lot of the local business accounts and personal tax filings for people around here. It’s a lot of number crunching and looking through receipts, which isn't very exciting to most people, but it’s what we do. We don't have a modern glass office or anything like that. It’s just a few of us sitting at old wooden desks with calculators and ledger books. During tax season, the place gets pretty hectic, and we end up staying late into the night. We drink a lot of strong South Indian coffee to stay awake. The neighbors are friendly, and we often have people just dropping in to ask a quick question or leave some papers. We try to be helpful without making things too complicated. There’s no big corporate talk here, just plain English and a lot of math. We've seen the neighborhood change over the years, but our little office on the lane stays pretty much the same. It’s a steady life, just making sure the books balance and the government gets its due.
