About Panchayat Union Middle School – Education in Coimbatore
Our school sits right along the Dharapuram Road in Tirupur. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there’s always the sound of trucks and bikes zooming past our front gate. We deal with middle school kids mostly, which is an interesting age because they’re not quite little anymore but they aren't adults yet either. The classrooms are basic, with wooden benches and blackboards that we’ve used for years. Every morning, the students gather for assembly in the open space we have, and then they head into their rooms. Tirupur is a hardworking town, and you can see that in the families whose kids come here. Many of the parents work in the local garment units and drop their children off early before their shifts start. We have a small staff room where we sit during lunch to have our tiffin and talk about the day’s lessons. The playground isn't anything fancy, just a patch of ground where the boys play football or tag when they get a chance. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just carry on with the windows open. It’s a government school, so we don’t have much in the way of luxury, but the roof stays over our heads and the lessons get taught. We’ve seen many batches of students pass through these halls over the years, moving on to high school once they finish their time here on Dharapuram Road.
