New Valarmathi Chandran Saloon is over in Rathinapuri. We are located at 1-B, 1St Street in Kannapa Nagar. It’s a very local spot, right near the police station. If you know that station, you can find us easily. This is an old-school kind of saloon. It’s been in the family for a bit, and we don’t see any reason to change much. We just do haircuts and shaves. Maybe a head massage if someone asks for it. The shop is small, so you might have to wait on the wooden bench outside if it’s full. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here. Rathinapuri is a tight-knit neighborhood. We know most of the people who walk through the door by name. We hear about their families and their jobs while they sit in the chair. It’s a noisy street sometimes with the bikes zooming past, but we are used to it. The floor is concrete, and we keep it as clean as we can with so much hair falling all day. It’s hard work being on your feet, but it’s what we do. We don’t use any fancy chemicals or strange machines. Just scissors, combs, and a steady hand. It’s a basic life here in Kannapa Nagar. We open early so the school boys can get their hair cut before class starts. Then we stay until the sun goes down. It is just a regular shop for the working people around Rathinapuri.
