Our spot is at 144 Sengupta Street, right in the heart of Ram Nagar. It’s an area that’s always got something going on, which can make things a bit hectic when we’re trying to load the van. The building is one of those traditional ones with the high ceilings and narrow stairs. We’ve been using the ground floor for the main operations for quite a few years now. The walls are painted a dull color that’s faded over time, and the floor has seen better days. We produce everything right here, so there’s usually a specific smell in the air depending on what’s being made that day. It isn't a quiet office environment; it’s more about the sound of packaging tape and people calling out to each other. We have a small corner for the paperwork, but mostly it’s just tables and boxes. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait around, which is just part of the routine in this neighborhood. The neighbors are mostly other small shops, so we all know each other. We don’t have a big sign out front, just a small one that people sometimes miss if they aren't looking for it. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, especially in the summer, so the fans are always going full blast. It’s a practical space where we focus on getting the work done and out the door to whoever ordered it.
