We have a small shop, number 12A, right where Dr Radhakrishnan Road meets Sathy Road. It is a very busy corner of Gandhipuram because of the Omni Bus Stop. There is a lot of foot traffic here. Most people just pop their heads in to ask about timings while they are waiting for their bus. We have a couple of benches out front where people sometimes sit. The office is quite small, so we try to keep it as tidy as we can, though it is hard with all the files we have to keep. We handle all sorts of travel requests, mostly for people going to the nearby districts. It gets very loud in the evenings when the long-distance buses start arriving. We have been in this spot for a long time, so we know the rhythm of the bus stop perfectly. We drink tea from the shop next door at least three times a day. There is no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that has seen better days. It is a very local way of doing things. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just talk to the people who walk through the door. It is a simple life, but it keeps us on our toes. We stay open late because that is when most of the travelers are around.
