Ayyanar Travels

Ayyanar Travels is based on Oppanakara Street, right in the thick of things. It is a very busy street with lots of shops and people everywhere. Our little office is right there among them. We spend most of our time organizing travel and car bookings for people. It’s not a complicated business but it sure is a busy one. There is always someone coming in to ask about a trip or a driver calling to say they are stuck in traffic. We have a few desks and some old calendars on the wall. It’s a comfortable enough place to sit and figure out a travel plan. Oppanakara Street is never quiet, so there is always a background noise of horns and people talking. We don't have a website with all the bells and whistles. Usually, people just call us on the mobile or walk in off the street. We know a lot of the local drivers and which ones are the most reliable for long trips. It’s about building those relationships over time. Sometimes we have to deal with last-minute changes or a car breaking down, but we just handle it as it comes. We aren't trying to be the biggest agency around, just a reliable one that people in the neighborhood can come to. It’s a lot of talking and scheduling, but we like being in the middle of all the action on this street. Every day is a little bit different here and we enjoy it.
