Mahamithra Furniture

We have been here at Kandasamy Gounder Lay Out for a good while now. It's just us working with wood and making stuff for people's houses in Coimbatore. If you know the area, you know where we are. It’s not a fancy place, just a workshop where we get things done. Most days it’s just the sound of sawing and sanding going on. We started Mahamithra Furniture because we wanted to work for ourselves and stay local. People around here usually just drop by when they need a new cupboard or a table fixed up. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty inside, but that’s how it goes with this kind of work. We try to keep things organized but with all the timber lying around, it's a bit of a squeeze. The Tamil Nadu heat can be tough in the afternoons, but we just keep at it. We aren't trying to be some big showroom you see in the city center. It's just a regular shop where we do what we know. If someone needs something, they come talk to us. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit, but we’re still here at the same spot. It’s quiet enough on our street usually. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the tools. That’s pretty much the story of our little place here. Every piece we make is just standard stuff for normal homes. We don't use any fancy machines, just the ones we've had for a long time. It works for us.
