Leo Traders

If you find yourself on Thiyagi Road, look for number 55, right near T M L Maligai. That’s where Leo Traders is set up. It’s a busy spot, especially with the Maligai so close by, so there’s always something happening outside our door. We’ve been at this location for a while. The shop is filled with all sorts of things because that’s what trading is like. You never quite know what’s going to be the main focus from one week to the next. It’s a lot of physical work, moving boxes and checking orders. We aren't some big chain with polished floors. Our floors have scuff marks and the shelves are a bit crowded. It’s just how we work. We know most of the other shop owners on the road. We trade stories about the traffic or the heat over tea. It’s a basic life, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes the ledger doesn't balance on the first try and we have to spend the evening figuring out where a few rupees went. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the wall. We just want to make sure the customers get what they came for and we can pay the bills. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. The sign out front has seen better days, but it still says who we are. We just keep the door open and wait for the next person to walk in.
