King Masala Powder

We are located right here in T Nagar, Kakapalayam. It’s a busy spot and the traffic never really stops outside our door. Most days we are just busy with the grinders and the packaging. King Masala Powder isn't a huge operation with a bunch of suits. It is just a few of us making sure the spices get ground down properly and put into bags. Sometimes the air in the shop gets really heavy with the smell of chili or coriander. It makes you sneeze if you aren't used to it. We started this because we wanted to work for ourselves and spices are something everyone needs in their kitchen every single day. We spend a lot of time checking the raw stuff that comes in to make sure it’s dry enough. If it's damp, the whole batch is ruined. We’ve had some long days where things didn’t go right with the machines, but we fix them and keep going. Local folks stop by to pick up what they need for dinner. We don’t have a fancy website or a big marketing team. We just sit here on our stools and wait for the next customer or the next delivery truck to show up. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. T Nagar is a loud place but it’s home for us and our little business.
