Bharathi Electronics

Bharathi Electronics is at 4/5A, right across from the Mahindra First Choice Service Centre in Kavandampalayam. We’re also near Shahdara Street No. 1 and the Mansarovar Metro Station. Because of the metro being so close, there are always people walking past and a lot of activity on the street. Our shop is pretty much filled to the ceiling with old televisions, circuit boards, and boxes of spare parts. There are wires hanging from the walls and plastic bins full of tiny components that only we can identify. We spend most of our time at a cluttered workbench with a soldering iron in hand. It looks like a mess to most people, but we have our own system for finding things. The lighting inside is very bright so we can see what we’re doing with the smaller parts. We don't have a fancy showroom or a place for people to lounge. Almost every inch of the shop is used for repairs. Sometimes you can feel a little vibration when the metro goes past, but we’ve stopped noticing it. We talk to the customers who bring in their broken electronics and try to be honest about what we can fix. It’s just a couple of us who like working with our hands and figuring out why something stopped working. We’ve been here for a while and enjoy being part of the noise and life in this busy area.
