Down in Tondiarpet, Chennai, things can get pretty hot, but we keep things moving at our place on Kanniappan Colony. This is the local base for Hyundai Electronics India Ltd. It’s a bit of an older neighborhood, and we like it that way. Our building at 34/2 isn’t a massive corporate headquarters; it’s more of a local hub where we manage the distribution and service of electronics. Most of us here have lived in Chennai our whole lives, so we know the local market pretty well. We spend a lot of time checking inventory and making sure the boxes are moving to the right retail outlets. It’s a lot of manual work, moving things around and keeping track of serial numbers. We don't have a big PR team writing our stories. We’re just regular people who come in every morning, have our coffee, and start going through the day's orders. Sometimes the humidity gets to us, but the fans in the office work overtime. People in the colony know us as the Hyundai folks, and we often have neighbors dropping by just to chat about whatever is going on in the street. We try to keep things simple and treat everyone who walks through the door with respect. It’s about doing a decent day's work and making sure the products reach the customers in good shape. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is a job we are proud to do.
