Karthikeya Paper Board Ltd

Our place is down in Coimbatore, over at 14 55 B Teachers Colony in the E Podanur Post area. If you come by, you’ll see the big stacks of grey and brown boards waiting to be moved. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but you can’t miss the sound of the cutters. The air always has that dusty, woody smell that comes with handling so much paper. We deal with thick boards mostly, the kind used for boxes or book covers. It’s heavy work, moving the pallets around the floor. The office is just a small corner partitioned off with some old plywood. We have a ledger that’s seen better days and a phone that never stops ringing. Dealing with the mills and the transport guys takes up most of the morning. Coimbatore weather can get pretty hot, so the warehouse stays warm. We don't have fancy uniforms or a lobby. Most of us are just in work clothes covered in a bit of paper lint. It’s a straightforward business. We get the raw material in, we process it into boards, and we send it out. Sometimes the machinery acts up and we have to spend half the day with a wrench in hand. It’s just how it goes here. We’ve been in Teachers Colony for years and the neighbors are used to the trucks coming and going. It is a lot of heavy lifting but it keeps us busy.
