K M Abdul Wahab Sahib & Co

We have been located at 29, Big Bazaar Street for a long time. The name K M Abdul Wahab Sahib & Co is painted on a board that has faded over the years, but most people around here know where we are. This part of the street is always crowded with people and carts moving back and forth. Inside the shop, it is mostly just piles of rice sacks stacked up to the ceiling. The air feels thick with the smell of dry grain and old wood. We don't use computers much, mostly just keeping track of things in handwritten ledgers that we pile on the old desk. The building is old, so the walls have some cracks and the floor is uneven in places. Every morning starts the same way, opening the heavy wooden doors and sweeping the front step. We get a lot of older customers who have been coming to this same spot for decades. They know us and we know them. There is no fancy music playing or anything like that. Just the sound of the street outside and the heavy thud of bags being dropped on the floor. It is a simple way to spend the day, just selling rice and chatting with the neighbors. We don't try to change things much because the old way seems to work fine for everyone who comes through our door. The street is noisy, but it feels like home.
