Joseph & Company

At Joseph & Company, we have been operating out of 51, Trichy Road in Ramanathapuram for a long time. It is a very busy stretch of road and there is never really a quiet moment from dawn until dusk. I spend most of my day sitting at the main desk or walking around the storage area to check on things. Ramanathapuram is a hub of activity and we are right in the middle of it. The building itself is an older one, so it has a lot of character, but also a few leaks when the monsoon hits hard. We have some old ceiling fans that squeak a bit as they turn but they keep the air moving which is important when it gets humid. We don't do much in the way of decoration or making the place look polished. It is a working office and shop, so there are papers and samples scattered around quite a bit. I usually have my tea around eleven and that is the best part of the morning. Most of the people who come in are regulars who have been coming here for years. We know their names and what they usually need. It is not a corporate setup at all, just a few of us trying to keep things running smoothly. We deal with whatever comes our way and try to keep the shelves filled up as best as we can given the limited space we have.
