Family Business

Our place is at number 11 in Coimbatore, and it’s basically what the name says. We are a family business through and through. Tamil Nadu has a lot of places like ours, but this one is home to us. It’s not just a workplace; it’s where we grew up and where we spend most of our waking hours. My uncle handles a lot of the older customers while the rest of us take care of the daily tasks that keep the doors open. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy speeches. If you come by the shop, you’ll probably see someone having tea or sorting through papers on the desk. It gets quite busy during the festival seasons, and then everyone in the house has to pitch in to help. Coimbatore is a good city for this kind of work. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, which we like. Sometimes the internet acts up or the electricity goes out for an hour, so we just sit and talk until it comes back. We’ve known the neighbors for years, and they often stop by just to say hello. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We just focus on keeping the business running so the next generation can take over when the time comes. It’s simple work but it keeps us together as a unit.
