My name is Ponnaiah's son and we run Cnv Groups Of Mills here in Keelarajakularaman. My father retired from the electricity board years ago and we started this together. It’s a quiet place on Agraharam Street. The sun gets really hot in this part of Tamilnadu, especially around Rajapalayam, so we usually start our day quite early before the heat becomes too much to handle inside the mill. We have a few machines and some local guys who help out. It isn't a massive factory like you see in the big cities, but it keeps us busy every single day. Usually, I'm at the desk or checking the stock while the power is steady. Dealing with the mill stuff takes up most of my time. Sometimes the neighbors stop by for a chat because it’s a small street and everyone knows my father from his TNEB days. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. There is always some dust from the cotton or whatever we are processing that day. It gets on everything. I try to keep the paperwork organized, but things get messy when we have a big order to finish up. We don’t really have a big fancy office. It’s just us, the machines, and the daily routine of keeping the mill running until the sun goes down. It is honest work and it supports our families well enough in this corner of the state.
