Our school is situated along the Mettupalayam Road in the Kavundampalayam area of Coimbatore. Because we are on such a major road, there is a constant stream of cars and buses going past our gate all day long. Brindavan Vidyalaya has been around for a while, and the building shows its age in a comfortable, lived-in kind of way. We have many classrooms spread out across the floors, and the stairs are always busy with students moving around between periods. It’s a typical Coimbatore school where things are done in a very straightforward manner. The teachers use the staff rooms to prepare their lessons and chat about the local news while having their tea. We have a playground that gets quite dusty during the dry months, but that doesn’t stop the students from running around. The morning assembly is usually a bit loud because of the traffic noise from the road, but we've all learned to speak up over the sound of the engines. We don't have fancy lobbies or marble floors. It’s just a place with concrete hallways and painted walls that get scuffed up by the kids' bags. Most of the people working here have been part of the school for years and know exactly how everything runs. It is just a regular, busy school on a busy road in Coimbatore, doing what it has always done for the people out here in 641030.
