Asiya Masala

You can find us on Ramar Kovil Street, specifically at No:17 in T Kottam Patti. Being in Pollachi, the air usually smells like the outdoors and whatever is cooking nearby. Our spot is right there on the street, and we have been running Asiya Masala from this location for quite some time. It is a simple street, not too wide, with people walking by and the occasional cow wandering through. We deal with spices every day, so the scent of pepper and turmeric is always hanging around the doorway. It gets into your clothes after a while. The work is steady, mostly grinding and packing things up for people who need them. We don't have a big corporate office or anything, just the rooms where we work and the front area where we talk to folks. Sometimes the rain comes down hard and we have to move everything away from the entrance quickly. It is a very local way of doing things. We know the people on the street and they know us. Most of the time it is just the sound of the machines and the neighborhood noise. It is a quiet life in Pollachi for the most part. We just keep our heads down and handle the masalas as they come in.
