A Spicy Treat

A Spicy Treat is over at 63, Ragavendra Nagar, in the Iob Colony area of Vadavalli. We are right in a residential neighborhood, so it feels very much like a community spot. The kitchen is usually the heart of the place, and you can smell whatever is cooking from all the way down the street. We started this because we liked being in Vadavalli, and the spot in Ragavendra Nagar seemed just right. It is not a huge dining hall or anything like that, just a cozy place with a few tables and chairs. Most of our day is spent prepping ingredients and cleaning up after the lunch rush. We get a lot of people from the Iob Colony who just walk over because they don't feel like cooking at home. The walls have a few simple pictures, but mostly it's just about the food and the people eating it. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when too many orders come in at once, and the small space feels even smaller. But we just keep at it, and usually, everyone gets their food eventually. The neighbors are used to us by now, even when the exhaust fan makes a lot of noise in the evening. It's a simple life of chopping, frying, and chatting with the locals who stop by to see what's on the menu today. We just enjoy being part of the neighborhood and keeping everyone fed.
