We operate out of Adu Ram’s place in Bhasina, which is near Sujangarh in the Churu district. If you know Churu, you know it gets incredibly hot and the sand is everywhere, especially when the wind picks up. Adu Ram, the son of Manaram, has been around here forever, so everyone knows where to find us. We are a producer company, but that really just means we are a bunch of local guys trying to get the best out of this dry land. The office is simple, just a part of the house really, where we keep our records and meet with the farmers. There isn't much shade around, so we spend a lot of time inside during the middle of the day. We talk about the rain a lot, because in Churu, water is everything. Our work involves a lot of back and forth with the people in the village, making sure everyone is on the same page about the seeds and the selling. It’s not an easy life, and sometimes the crops don't do what they’re supposed to do, but we keep going. We don't have any big marketing plans or shiny brochures. We just have our names and our word, and the work we do every day in the fields around Sujangarh. It’s basic, honest work, and we just take things one day at a time here in the desert of Rajasthan.
