Ambesh Metal Industries

Starting at Ambesh Metal Industries in GIDC Panchmahal every morning usually means dealing with the dust and the sound of heavy trucks rolling by. Our place at number 111 isn't fancy or anything like that. It is just a workshop where we deal with metal pieces all day long. Sometimes the heat from the machines gets a bit much, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the corrugated roof. We mostly just focus on getting the orders sorted and making sure the inventory counts are right. My hands are usually covered in some kind of grease by noon, but that is just how it goes when you are working here. The guys in the next unit always stop by for a chat around tea time, and we talk about the traffic or how the power went out for an hour. It is a simple setup with some old tools and a few newer ones we got a couple of years back. We have been in this spot for a while now, and the walls show it. There are stains and scratches everywhere, but it feels right for what we do. Nobody wears suits here; we just wear whatever can get dirty without it being a problem. Most days are about cutting, shaping, and loading things onto the back of small tempos that squeeze through the narrow lanes. It is just regular work in a regular part of town.
