Vikas Gents Parlour

Vikas Gents Parlour is situated on Khandoba Mandir Road in the Satara area of Aurangabad. We are very close to the actual Khandoba Mandir, so we hear the temple music and the bells ringing all through the day. The 431001 area is where we've set up our small shop. It’s just a basic place for men’s grooming. We have two old-fashioned barber chairs and a large mirror that covers most of the wall. The road outside is usually dusty because of all the people walking to the mandir, so we spend a lot of time sweeping the entrance. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of wall fans that keep the air moving. Our customers are mostly local men who want a quick shave or a simple haircut before they go to work or after they visit the temple. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the people by their first names. We don’t use any expensive hair products, just the standard ones that everyone knows and trusts. It’s a busy life but it’s a good one. Sometimes on festival days, the road gets so crowded we can barely see the street from our window. But we just keep working. It’s a very straightforward business and we don’t try to make it more than it is. Just a local spot for a decent haircut on Khandoba Mandir Road.
