Super Raj Parlour

Down here in Balaji Nagar, things move at a steady pace. We are located in the Aurangabad Ho area, specifically near Kunal Medicals. If you know that pharmacy, you know exactly where we are. This part of Maharashtra gets quite hot, so the shop is a bit of a break from the sun for most of our customers. We’ve got the old-style chairs that still work fine even if they squeak a little when you sit down. I’ve spent many years standing on this tiled floor, moving around people’s heads with my shears. There is always a stack of newspapers near the bench for those waiting their turn. We don't really have a fancy waiting area, just a simple wooden bench. Usually, the conversation is about cricket or the price of things at the market. I try to keep the mirrors clean, but the dust always finds a way in. It’s a local spot where you don't have to dress up to come in. Most of the guys just stop by after work or on a Sunday morning before lunch. We know most of the faces that walk through the door. It’s nice to have that connection with the neighborhood. You see the kids grow up and then they start bringing their own kids in for a cut. That’s just the way life is at Super Raj Parlour. It’s a long day from morning to night, but it’s what I know.
