Y L Murtuza & Co is tucked away on the third floor of number 155 on Broadway. If you know the area, you know how hectic Broadway gets with all the vehicles and people moving around. We are right opposite the police quarters, which actually helps people find the building since it's a big landmark. There isn’t an elevator that we use all the time, so climbing up to the third floor keeps us moving, though it’s a bit of a struggle in the summer heat. The office itself is pretty simple. We’ve got some old wooden desks and chairs that have been with us for years. It’s not one of those fancy modern offices with glass walls. We have stacks of papers and files everywhere because that’s just how the work goes here. Sometimes the traffic noise from below is quite loud, but after a while, you just stop hearing it. We usually start the day with some tea and get through whatever is on the desk. There’s a small balcony where you can stand and look at the police quarters and the road. It gets dusty because of all the construction and traffic nearby, so we are always cleaning the window sills. It’s just a regular place where we come to do our jobs every day. We’ve been in this Broadway spot for a long time now and we’re used to the chaos of the street. Sometimes we spend half the morning just looking for a specific folder. Broadway is a busy place, so parking is always a headache. We usually tell people to come by bus if they can.
