I started Wayne Carter D J because I always liked music and playing it for other people. My place is out in Ernavur, specifically in Brindhavan Nagar Extension. If you know where Nava Joyti School is, I am quite close to that spot. It is not a big fancy studio. Mostly, it is just where I keep my speakers, cables, and all the music gear I use for gigs. I do a lot of local parties, birthdays, and maybe some small wedding receptions around Chennai. Ernavur is a bit of a distance from the main city center, but I travel all over for work. People usually find me by word of mouth or seeing me play at a friend's house. I do not have a team of secretaries or a marketing department. It is just me and sometimes a friend who helps me carry the heavy equipment. When I am not out at a party, I am usually at home on No 40/8 sorting through my playlists or making sure my amplifiers are working right. The gear is heavy and the nights are long, but I enjoy seeing people have a good time. It is a simple life of playing songs and making sure the sound is loud enough but not too distorted. Sometimes the neighbors probably get annoyed when I test the bass, but that is just part of living near a DJ. I have been doing this for a while and plan to keep at it for the years to come.
