We are based on Monteith Road in Egmore, which is one of those old parts of Chennai that never seems to sleep. Our address has those confusing old and new numbers—Old No 59 and New No 18. It gets some delivery people lost occasionally. Wamox India Pvt Ltd is what’s on the door, but inside, it’s just a group of us working through piles of paperwork and computer screens. Egmore is great because you can get anywhere from here, but the traffic on Monteith Road is something else. Our office is functional. We’ve got desks, some old chairs that probably need replacing, and a coffee machine that works when it feels like it. We don’t spend much time on decor or trying to look like a high-end tech firm. We are just a private limited company trying to do right by our clients. The building has that classic Chennai office feel, a bit dusty but reliable. We talk to each other in a mix of English and Tamil, mostly about work but also about where to get the best lunch nearby. We’ve been doing this for a while, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change, but our way of working stays the same. We just show up, do the job, and head home. No frills, just steady work in a busy part of town. It is how we manage to stay busy without needing to shout about it.
