Venus Orchestra

Our setup is tucked away at No 3/2 on Kaveri Nagar Sastri 3rd Cross Street, which is a small slice of Saidapet. We are right near the Aranganathan Subway, so the rumble of the trains and the noise of the traffic is something we hear all day long. Venus Orchestra has been around this neighborhood for quite some time now. Our place isn't anything fancy, just a room filled with instrument cases, tangled cables, and some old chairs that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time here practicing or just fixing up the gear after a late-night gig. The humidity in this part of town can be tough on the drum skins and the strings, so there is always some maintenance to do. It’s a tight space, and when all the musicians show up, it gets pretty crowded and loud. We don’t have a big marketing team or a polished front office. Usually, it’s just one of us sitting at the wooden desk with a ledger, keeping track of the bookings. We like being in Saidapet because it’s central, even if the streets are narrow and hard to navigate with a van full of speakers. Most mornings involve hauling equipment out to the street and loading it up for whatever wedding or local festival we’re playing that night. It’s hard work and the hours are long, but this is what we do. We just focus on the music and making sure the equipment doesn't fail.
