V-Design

V-Design is currently based at 5-D, M.S.Block, which is a Type II residence in the CLRI Staff Quarters. This is located in the Adyar area of Chennai, with the pin code 600020. We operate care of Mr. R. Nagaswamy. It’s a bit unusual to have a design business in a residential staff quarter, but it suits the way we work. The neighborhood is full of trees and is much quieter than the center of Tamil Nadu’s capital. We have a small corner of the block set up with our computers and drafting tools. It’s not a big corporate office with glass walls or a view of the skyline. Instead, we look out over the courtyard where people live their lives. This makes the work feel more personal. We don't have a receptionist or a sales department. If you want to talk to us about a design, you usually just speak directly to the person doing the work. We spend a lot of time sitting and thinking or sketching out ideas on paper. It’s a very low-key operation. We don't have fancy brochures or a list of corporate values. We just take on the projects that come our way and try to do something that makes sense. Sometimes the internet is a bit patchy or it gets very humid, but that’s just life in Chennai. We keep moving along regardless.
