The Swingers

The Swingers is located up on the 6th Floor of the Challamal Complex. That is No: 11 on Sir Thiyagaraya Road, right across from the Globus in Pondy Bazaar. Being in the heart of T Nagar means it is always loud and there is always a crowd outside. We have been here for a long time, teaching dance and getting people moving. The elevator in the complex can be a bit slow sometimes, so you have to be patient if you are coming up to see us. We have got a decent amount of space on the sixth floor where we can really spread out. It is a bit of a hike from the street level but the view of the bazaar is actually quite nice from up here. We aren't some big corporate franchise; we are just a group of people who really like dancing and wanted to share that with the neighborhood. The floors are a bit scuffed from all the feet moving over them every day, but we think that just shows how much use the place gets. People from all over Chennai come through these doors. T Nagar is always a maze of traffic and shoppers, so we usually tell our regulars to leave plenty of time to get here. We don't do much fancy marketing, people usually hear about the classes from their friends. It is a simple, hardworking environment where the music is almost always playing in one of the rooms throughout the day.
