The Counselling Clinic

You’ll find us at 12 Jarret Garden, just off the 2nd Avenue on Casa Major Road in Egmore. It’s a relatively quiet street compared to the main roads around here. We’ve set up the clinic inside what feels like a regular house, which makes it feel a bit less intimidating. There are a few rooms with comfortable chairs and not much else. We try to keep the noise down so people can talk in peace. The fan hums in the background, and sometimes you can hear the birds in the garden outside. We’ve been here for a good amount of time now. People come in and out all day. We don't have a big fancy sign out front, just a small one by the gate. The gate itself is a bit squeaky, and we keep meaning to oil it. It’s a simple setup. We have a small table with some old magazines and a water jug. Most of our day is spent sitting and listening. It’s quiet work. Egmore is a central spot, so people find it easy to get to us by train or bus. We don't have a receptionist all the time, so we often answer the door ourselves. It’s just a small, local place where people can come when they need to. The floor is old tile, and it stays cool even when the Chennai heat is at its worst.
