Thanigai Malai Fly Ash Bricks

Our place is right on Redhills Road in Kolathur, just a short walk from the bus stop. You can usually see the stacks of fly ash bricks from the road. It’s a busy area and there’s always noise from the traffic and the buses pulling in. We started this because there was a lot of building happening around here. We spend our mornings checking the press and making sure the fly ash is stored properly so it doesn't get wet if it rains. It gets messy sometimes, but that’s expected with this kind of work. The yard at Plot No.15-B isn’t huge but we make it work. Most of us have been here since the start and we know the routine. It’s not a desk job, that’s for sure. We’re usually wearing boots and covered in grey dust by noon. Customers come in and out, some just asking prices and others wanting a full load delivered to their site. We try to keep enough stock ready so nobody has to wait too long. The sun hits the yard pretty hard in the middle of the day, so we take our breaks then. It’s just a regular local business trying to keep up with the demand. We don't have any big corporate goals, just making sure the bricks we turn out are solid enough for whatever people are building. It’s hard work but it pays the bills.
