We’ve been here at 1/11, Walajabad Road in Vandalur for a while now. Most days are pretty busy with people dropping off phones that have cracked screens or batteries that just won't hold a charge anymore. It gets a bit dusty being right on the main road, but that’s just how it is around here. We spend a lot of time looking at tiny screws and trying to figure out why a motherboard isn't responding. Sometimes it’s a quick fix and other times we have to keep the phone for a couple of days to get the right parts in. We also have some new handsets and accessories on the shelves if someone needs a replacement right away. It’s not a huge fancy showroom, just a practical space where we get the work done. The morning starts with opening up the shutters and checking the list of repairs from the day before. People stop by on their way to work or while they are out running errands. It’s a straightforward setup. We don't have any big speeches to give about what we do. We just sit at the benches, use our tools, and try to help folks get their devices working again. Usually, it's just about making sure someone can make their calls or check their messages without the screen flickering. That's the main thing we do every day without making a big fuss about it.
