Star Valley Agri Foods is based out of No. 4/7 on Tamizh Salai in Egmore. If you know Chennai, you know Egmore is always moving and can be quite noisy with all the traffic. Our place is tucked in there, and we handle various agricultural food products. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, really. We spend most of our time coordinating with farmers and making sure the supplies reach the markets. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a practical space where we keep our records and meet people. Sometimes the heat in the city makes the work feel longer, but we stay on top of things. We aren't a big corporation with lots of layers. If you call, you’re usually talking to one of the people who actually handles the bags or signs the receipts. There’s a lot of back and forth in this job, and things don't always go exactly as planned, but we figure it out. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years, but our work with agri foods stays pretty much the same day to day. We focus on the practical side of getting food from the rural areas into the hands of those who need it in the city. It keeps us busy from morning until late evening most days. It is just how life goes here in the middle of Egmore.
