If you head down towards Nemilichery in Chromepet, you’ll find us. We’ve been focusing on road work for a long time. It’s sweaty work, being out on the blacktop all day, but someone has to do it. The office is just a place to store the files and keep the rain off our heads while we plan the next stretch of road. We don’t have any slick brochures or anything like that. Usually, people find us because they’ve seen our rollers and trucks out on the streets. We try to keep our equipment in good shape, though they always end up covered in tar and dirt anyway. It’s a simple operation, really. We get the orders, we bring the gravel and the machines, and we lay it down. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the noise, but then they like having a smooth road to drive on later. We’ve got a small crew, mostly local guys who know the area well. It gets pretty loud during the day, especially when the heavy machinery is idling right outside the door. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we absolutely have to. Most of the real work happens outside in the sun. It's what we know how to do, so we just stick to it. Chromepet is a busy place and we’re just glad to be working here. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk.
