Sravi One Masala (Opc) Private Limited

Our small company, Sravi One Masala (Opc) Private Limited, is tucked away in Kotturpuram at B-8, No. 5, Lock Street. It's a quiet little corner of Chennai compared to some of the busier markets. We operate out of Kottur Villa. It’s more of a home-style setup than a big factory. We spend our mornings grinding spices and mixing things together. The smell of the masala usually drifts out onto Lock Street, so the neighbors always know what we are making that day. It's just a one-person company officially, but there are always people helping out with the packing and the cleaning. We don't have a big corporate office with glass walls. It’s just a room with some heavy-duty grinders and plenty of stainless steel containers. Most of our tools are things we’ve had for years. We buy our raw ingredients from the local markets and spend time cleaning them by hand before they go into the machine. It takes longer that way but it’s just how we’ve always done it. Sometimes the power goes out in this part of town and we just have to sit and wait for it to come back on. It gives us a chance to have some tea and talk. We aren't trying to be the biggest spice company in India. We just want to make decent masala for the people who buy from us.
