Best In Spice

Best In Spice is located over in Kodambakkam, specifically at Old 11/1 which is now New No. 21/G1 on Ashok Avenue. It can be a little confusing for people trying to find us the first time because of the house numbers changing. Our place is usually filled with the heavy scent of pepper, turmeric, and whatever else we are packing that day. It’s a small operation and we do a lot of the work by hand. We spend our mornings weighing out spices and sealing up bags for the local shops. The floor often has a thin layer of spice dust no matter how much we sweep it. We aren't some high-tech factory. It’s just a ground-floor space where we manage our stock and talk to the farmers who bring us the raw stuff. Sometimes the street gets blocked by a delivery van, and we have to rush out to move things quickly. We’ve lived and worked in this area for a long time, so we know most of the people walking by. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the bags piled up, but we know where everything is. We don't use any fancy systems, just a basic scale and some notebooks to keep track of what goes in and out. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we find it okay.
