Sms Clinic

Vadapalani is a hectic place to be, and our clinic is right in the middle of it. If you’ve ever walked around these streets, you know how it gets with the temples and the shops and the constant flow of people. We’ve been operating the Sms Clinic here for a long time. The building we are in is older, with those thick walls and narrow hallways that stay a little cooler than the street outside. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles here. It’s just a few rooms, some wooden benches for waiting, and the usual stuff you’d find in a neighborhood clinic. The mornings are usually the loudest with the vendors outside calling out their prices. We get all sorts of people walking through the door, from students to the elderly who have lived in Vadapalani their whole lives. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and we just open the windows and wait for the generator to kick in. It’s not a fancy medical center with glass walls. It’s a practical place where people come when they aren't feeling well. We know the rhythm of the neighborhood, like when the traffic will be at its worst or when the flower sellers start packing up for the evening. It’s a bit dusty and the paint is peeling in some corners, but it’s our workplace and we are used to the quirks of the building. We just keep the doors open and do what needs doing.
