Sk Bricks

Sk Bricks is right in the middle of everything at No.5, Ramanathan Street, T.Nagar. Bricks aren’t the most exciting thing to talk about for most people, but they’re what we know. We deal with stacks and stacks of them. It’s a gritty business. Your clothes get red and dusty by the end of the shift. We’ve been here at this spot for a good while, watching the buildings go up all around us. When a truck pulls up with a fresh load, it’s a lot of work to get everything stacked right so nothing breaks. Bricks are tougher than they look, but they can still chip if you’re careless. People come by looking for enough to finish a small wall or sometimes a whole house. We just give them the price and show them the quality of what we’ve got sitting there. There’s no glossy brochure here. You just look at the brick, feel the weight, and decide if it’s what you need. Some days are quieter than others, which gives us time to tidy up the yard a bit. The heat in Chennai can be a lot, so we take breaks when we can. It’s simple, honest work. We supply the basics that people need to build things. It's been that way since we started, and we don't see any reason to change how we run things. Just bricks and hard work on a busy street. We like it that way.
