Shree Jaya Siddha Clinic

Our spot here on Bazaar Road in Saidapet stays pretty busy most of the time. You can hear the bikes and autos honking outside all day long. Shree Jaya Siddha Clinic is tucked into No.11/26, and if you aren’t looking for it, you might miss the entrance because of the shops nearby. Inside, it’s a bit quieter than the street, though the ceiling fan makes a steady clicking sound. We usually start the morning by tidying up the glass jars and wiping down the wooden desk. There isn't much space for a big waiting room, so people just sit on the metal chairs we have lined up. We see a lot of regular faces from around Saidapet coming in for their usual Siddha needs. Sometimes the light in the hallway flickers, and we keep saying we will fix it next week. It’s just how things go here. The floor is stone and stays cool even when the sun is hitting the pavement outside hard. We don't have fancy decorations on the walls, just a few old calendars and a clock that’s five minutes fast. Most people who come here know us by name, and we know who’s going to be early and who’s always late. It’s a plain place, but it works for us and the people who live nearby on this side of the city.
