Sheela Ramani Clinic

We’ve been here at No-6/42 on Shanmugam Road for a good while now. It’s a busy part of Tambaram West, so there is always something going on outside our door. Most days start with opening up the shutters and getting the rooms ready before the first people show up. It isn’t a fancy place, just a regular clinic where we try to keep things organized. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time yet. We see a lot of local families from around the neighborhood. Sometimes it gets crowded in the waiting area, especially when the weather changes and everyone seems to have a cough. We have a few benches and some old magazines that people look through while they wait their turn. The traffic on Shanmugam Road can get pretty loud in the afternoons, but you get used to the sound of horns after a few weeks of working here. Our staff usually brings lunch from home and we eat in the back when there’s a break. It is just a simple setup where we handle the daily walk-ins and appointments. We know most of the shopkeepers nearby, so it feels like a little community. There is a lot of walking back and forth between the exam rooms. We try to keep the files in order, though the cabinets are getting a bit full. It’s just a normal day-to-day life running a clinic in this part of town.
