Sharon Decoration

Sharon Decoration is over on Parasu Pillai Street in Kilpauk, right near the Fathima Church. If you walk past, you’ll probably see us unloading bundles of flowers or rolls of colorful fabric from a van. It’s a small space, so we end up keeping a lot of our ladders and frames out back. Most of our days are spent checking schedules for upcoming weddings or small parties. It’s a lot of physical work, honestly. My hands are usually stained with plant sap or scratched from bits of wire. We don’t have a big fancy office. It’s mostly just a desk tucked into a corner where we keep track of who needs what decorations and when. Sometimes we stay up really late finishing a floral arrangement or making sure the drapes are just right for a morning function. The church nearby is a good landmark for people trying to find us. We’ve been in this part of Chennai for a while now, so we know most of the neighbors. People just drop in to see what we are working on. It gets messy with all the glitter and cut stems everywhere, but we clean up eventually. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in town, we just like making things look nice for people's special days. It's a lot of running around, but we enjoy the chaos of it. It feels good to see it finished.
