Shagun Ladies Beauty Paarlour Sowcarpet is at 353 Mintr Street, on the first floor. This part of Chennai is always crowded with people and carts, so it’s quite a lively area. We are located near the Corporation Bank, which makes it easier for people to find us among all the other shops. The stairs are a little old and steep, but once you’re inside, it’s a bit quieter than the street. We do a lot of bridal work, henna, and threading for the ladies in Sowcarpet. The shop is filled with the smell of jasmine and hair products most days. We have a few assistants who are good with their hands and can work quickly when we have a lot of people waiting. Since we’re in a market area, it gets really busy during the festival seasons. We have some stools for customers to sit on and some old magazines to look at. The mirrors have a few scratches, and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it doesn’t stop us from doing our job. We’ve been in this building for many years now. It’s a small, family-run kind of place where everyone knows everyone else. We don't do any big advertising; people just know we are here on the first floor. It’s a bit cramped but we manage to get everyone’s hair and makeup done on time.
