Saroja Sound Company

We are located down in Korukkupet on 2nd Street in Meenambal Nagar. It’s house number 3/59. If you’re coming by train, we’re actually quite close to the Korukkupet Railway Station, so you can hear the trains passing by quite often. Being a sound company, maybe the train noise is just part of the atmosphere for us. We have a lot of gear stacked up in our space. It’s not the neatest place in Chennai, but we know where everything is. There’s always someone moving a speaker or checking a cable. We don't really have a front desk person sitting there waiting to greet you. Usually, we’re all busy in the back or out at a site. It’s a hands-on kind of job. The street outside can get a bit dusty and busy with the local traffic. We’ve been in this part of Korukkupet for a good while, so the locals are used to seeing our trucks loaded up. We aren't really into the whole corporate branding thing. We just focus on the equipment and making sure it works when it’s supposed to. It’s hard work, especially in the Chennai heat, but we’re used to it. The station nearby makes it easy for some of the staff to get in, which is a plus. We often work late into the evening when the rest of the neighborhood has gone quiet. It’s just the way things have always been for us here. It is practical and straightforward.
